Approximately a year and a half had passed since the opening of the directly managed store, but a challenge remained: the inability to accurately visualize the needs of customers.

Based on the foot traffic in front of the store, we mistakenly assumed that there were many female customers, and our promotions were biased towards women and those over 60. However, we were unable to implement strategies tailored to the actual customer base, and we needed to improve the number of customers entering the store and reduce the cost of acquiring accurate data.

Solution through implementation

By analyzing attribute data, we discovered that the customer base was roughly half male and half female, and that the majority were in their 30s and 40s, allowing us to redefine our target audience.

Furthermore, we identified a purchasing pattern where customers consider products during the day and make purchases in the evening. This enabled us to accelerate the PDCA cycle through KPI management based on accurate data, resulting in more strategic store operations.
